Soldering Crash Course
Watch video and do the inclass quiz!
I Like to Break Things!
For this activity, you are required to make a cube 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm. (roughly 4” x 4” x 4”)
My job as a teacher is to tear it apart! (YEAH ME!) If the solder joints are well done, I shouldn’t be able to do this successfully. This will be marked out of 10.
Things I am looking for:
- Are the solder joints shiny and clean or are the clumpy, dull and dirty (think of kitty litter clumps!)?
- Is there just a minimum amount of solder or is there way too much solder?
- Is there excess wire sticking out of the solder joints or have they neatly been trimmed up?
